After spending loads of time down in the print room completing my Jesus Did Not Have Wheels exhibition prints, I actually fell in love with the screen printing process and wondered what kind of opportunities I could get in with to do with printing.
Because I had done the printroom keyholder exam and used that privilege a lot to complete work, I thought it would give me a good chance of being considered to try out volunteering in the print, maybe one day even working there!
However... after speaking with Mick it sounds much harder than I thought to secure a role... and I am better off volunteering at Vernon Street on the short courses or at Leeds Print Workshop. I keep pestering him downstairs about stuff but I don't feel confident I will get very far.
Mike however thinks I should go for applying for a studio residency that has print facility or just go in to Leeds Print Workshop when I need to use it... seeing as I am sticking round Leeds after graduating, I can use the uni facilities and keep on pestering until I get something.
