Poster and Advert

Today's PPP session was covering our relationship with our peers, our strengths as an illustrator and artist, and as a student. We first had to get into pairs and talk to our partner about what makes us tick - what we think our strengths and weaknesses are - just having a general chat. Then we had to draw each other as a superhero, demonstrating the traits that we'd spoken about.

What I had discussed with George was mostly to do with a process that I enjoyed, that I had brought with me through into university, like a one I was comfortable witj  which is collage - as I'm a bit frightened of just out right drawing. We also talked about what kind of illustrations we want to make and I think from talking to George I felt less isolated in terms of why I am on an illustration course - we both have similar opinions on what kind of illustration is trending today and how we want to kick back against this. I think this is what his representation shows.

The self advertisement with limited word count was difficult, because you must sell yourself as an illustrator, but I think it depends on what kind of illustrator you are. I know I am reliable and good at keeping time, I just put forward what I think is more important, although it definitely isn't really. But I think being emotional and into weird stuff can make for an interesting practice.
